Ingredients

  • 2 slices of whole grain bread
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 medium knob of aged cheddar cheese or your preferred type of cheese
  • 2-3 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Lettuce leaves optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Bread: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread. Once the skillet is hot, place the slices of bread, buttered-side down, and toast until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Prepare the Filling: While the bread is toasting, slice the knob of cheese into thin, even pieces. Slice the cooked bacon strips in half if desired.

Assemble the Sandwich: Spread mustard on one slice of toasted bread and honey on the other. Layer the cheese, bacon, and optional lettuce on one slice. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Grill and Serve: Place the two slices together to form the sandwich and grill for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese starts to melt slightly.

Cut and Serve: Slice the sandwich in half and serve warm. Enjoy!
